Oxnard—I start every new edition of the Tri County Sentry the same way—yea, I know, Mr. Routine—but this week, I wasn’t sure what I would write about.
THERE are some weeks when words are right there, like last week when I had to rush out and buy a new computer and change on the fly. But for some reason, things have not gone sideways for me this week.
So, my week was rolling along. I cleaned my house, being the Dog Dad I am, and covered stories. I was chatting online with a friend, and he said one thing that touched my trigger.

He’s right; I don’t sit at an anchor desk. I’m in the community, covering as much as humanly possible. That’s what a community journalist does for a living. Community events and news stories bind us together. I’ll tell you one thing for sure: It’s the best job ever.
