KIDS TRICK OR TREAT IS A SWEET DEAL

Ventura-- It was a candy delight at Ventura Harbor Village, Sunday, October 31, as the Kids Trick or Treat event brought out a big crowd of costume- wearing kids of all ages ready to get in the Halloween spirit and grab some candy.

THE village was a potpourri of Halloween fun, including activity tables, pumpkin carving, ominous music, and lots of store owners handing out trick-or-treat candy.

Jennifer Finnerty from Rose Family Funeral Homes brought the company Hearse decorated with lots of scary stuff.

“Once a year, we donate our Hearse for the day, and we come down to the harbor,” she said. “We dress it up with all things pirates and skeletons and let the community check out the Hearse. It’s not often that you get to see a Hearse.”

She said one child got frightened after seeing the display.

“He backed up a little,” she said.

Finnerty said she supports Ventura Harbor.

“I absolutely love seeing the little kids dress up,” she said. “That’s the best part about Halloween. It’s the community and being together, especially after the last 18 months or so. It’s really nice to see people.”
