City of Oxnard claims Aaron Starr’s lawsuits cost $4 million
Dear Editor: They published a news release bemoaning the cost of the Aaron Starr lawsuits. They also wanted to claim victory in a recent court loss of such a lawsuit concerning Pension Obligation Bonds. They further claimed that the inability of taking advantage of “record low interest rates” cost the City even more.

This news release is done in mid-October, when Mr. Starr is running for City Council District 3 in the November 2024 election cycle. It’s interesting timing, to say the least. The press release can be found on the City webpage under News & Events.
A certain resident likes to repeatedly make the claim that Mr. Starr is costing the City much money. He recently used the $4 million figure, perhaps from the news release. It was previously claimed to be $2 million. Now $4 million. Which is it?
