Oxnard-- You know, some weeks go as smooth as glass, while others go like lumpy gravy on undercooked mashed potatoes.
ON the positive side, there were some important stories in the paper this week that, like always, I provided lots of details that keep everyone informed about the things that are happening.
There were challenges, of course, that means dealing with things that I can’t control. If you recall, last week, I mentioned that the glossy shortened version of the paper was temporary because of the new variant that shut down a huge piece of the paper. Well, the shutdown that stopped us last week has been held over for another week, and thanks to the deluxe supply chain issues, there is still a paper shortage, which means that I had to spend a lot more money on glossy paper again. People are giving me great comments about how the paper looks, but it’s tough financially, especially for a new guy just getting started.
The J-Train had her hours cut at work also, which is directly attributed to the latest variant. She’s backfilling those hours with accumulated personal time, which we were banking and planning to use when our…
