Oxnard-- The Oxnard City Council approved new members to the Mobile Home Park Rent Review Board during its Tuesday, May 17 meeting.
THE action adds Felipe Flores, Cynthia Flores, Cynthia Daniels, and Martin Lee Remmen to the board. The Mobile Home Park Rent Review Board collects evidence and information, initiates investigations, schedules and conducts hearings or appeals, and issues written findings and decisions that protect mobile home park owners in the city from excessive rents, protects their homes, and provides a fair return for mobile home park owners.
Project Manager Samantha Shapiro presented the item to the council, and she said the board is comprised of five members at large who are not connected with the real estate or rental housing industry for their personal financial gain and are not residents or have any financial interest in any mobile home park.
Councilman Bert Perello said an issue arose on another board he served on over an apparent conflict.
