Ventura— During the Tuesday, June 23, Board of Supervisors Meeting, Board Chair Jeff Gorell introduced during its Moment of Inspiration Safe Passage Youth Foundation and his friend Tim Hagel.
“THIS Organization is dedicated to helping at-risk youth and their families through mentorship support services, educational services, and programs that make Pathways a success,” he said.
“Tim Hagel is a stranger to no one, and he’s a local Hero. You do so many things in the East County, and you’ve touched so many lives, and we’re grateful for that.”
Hagel said there are 600 kids a day, all of whom volunteer, and the organization keeps them out of gangs.
“We take care of 93 babies every week, who live in the neighborhood of the working poor,” he said. “On August 3, I have one of our kids who has matriculated out, and he’s just graduated with a Physics and Chemistry degree at Cal State Channel Islands, and he’s starting Officer Candidate School with the United States Navy as a Nuclear Engineer on August 3.”
He said that’s a Safe Passage kid.
