THOUGHTS WHILE WAITING FOR THE PAPER

Oxnard-- So, it’s Friday afternoon, and I have a new service delivering the paper to my office. There were some delays in the delivery process, so I decided to take advantage of the downtime and finish some office work.

OKAY, so I spent the day answering phone calls, sending emails, creating invoices, and printing envelopes.

I usually start delivering the paper on Friday, but it became evident that delivery was going out the window as the day slipped away.

As I sat in front of the computer on Friday night, I decided that I needed to split my time on Saturday and cover a story early, then go out and deliver the paper through Oxnard in the afternoon.

I decided to stop at the Bulky Item Drop Off event in the PAL parking lot K Street location and was surprised by how many people used the service. The truth is that many parts of the city experience illegal dumping, so it makes sense to me that dropping the stuff off and letting the city take care of the problem is a winner because some of that stuff will end up on the side of the road.
