YES ON A & B TEAM SPREADS THE WORD

Oxnard-- The Greater Oxnard Organization of Democrats (GOOD) was action central Saturday, May 14, as people spread the word about why voters should approve Measures A & B and protect drinking water in the area.

THE group says that voting yes will help protect water sources from fracking that was passed by Ventura County and better protect homes and schools.

Nathan Castillo helped spread the word and said the oil companies need a more responsible system in place.

“We’re here to protect the water and make sure that we have good water for our agriculture,” he said. “That’s a staple of Ventura County, specifically Oxnard. I’m a born and raised Oxnardian, and I have a lot of family that does agriculture.”

He said passing A&B won’t raise the gas prices at the pump.

“By the time they get their permits in place and start the drilling and the processing, it’s not going to have an effect on the pump prices,” he said.

 

Currently, Angelica Solloa said there are 3,800 oil rigs in Ventura County.
