Asphalt repair moves to City Council

Oxnard—The Public Works and Transportation Committee, Tuesday, June 24, unanimously approved a contract with BSN Construction for asphalt repairs in neighborhoods across the City.

ASSISTANT Public Works Director Tim Beaman presented the agreement, which costs $504,768, with a $50,477 contingency amount. The project amount will not exceed $555,477.

“When we do water main service and service lines, leaks often occur, and require sidewalk repairs and insulation,” he said. “The patches are 6x6 sections, and temporary patches are installed after water service is installed.”

He said the project includes 145 patches.

“A notice of formal bids, published on May 8, and the City received three bids from BSN Construction, $504,768, ADA General Engineering, and Tom Enterprises,” he said. “The Staff reviewed all the bids and determined BSN Construction to be the lowest responsible bidder.”

He said funding for the project will come from the Water Operating Fund, fund 601.
