British Car Show ’26 Is CI Joy

Channel Islands—The 35th Annual Central Coast British Car Show meant cars from across the pond everywhere, and the big crowd reveled in the history and styles.

THE lawn was filled with over 100 classic autos. The bagpipes played while the crowd watched, the food trucks were ready if you were hungry, and it was close to shopping and restaurants, to enjoy the day.

Meanwhile, the classic rock ’n’ roll kept the beat.

Bill Lyons is from the Jaguar Owners Club, and he’s owned his 1956 Jaguar Model XK 140 SE for the last 63 years.

“I was a Junior in High School, I saw the first one on the road, and it was love at first sight,” he said. “I’ve painted it twice, and this is a stock car, and I wanted to keep it stock.”

“It was a Porsche Orange, but it was ugly, I’ve done a lot of work on the inside of the car over 60 years,” he said. “My wife likes to get under the car and work on it too.”

Wife Darlene Lyons said she has been sharing the driving for about three to four years.
