Oxnard—The City of Oxnard’s Planning Commission, on Friday, August 20, will examine Bumble Bee’s preschool & childcare for a special use permit-minor.
ASSOCIATE case planner Rogelio Solis said the preschool is located at 527 West Port Hueneme Road in Oxnard.
Cesilla Valle, the designated agent, submitted the application requesting to operate a preschool and childcare in an 8,640-square-foot commercial tenant space within the General Commercial Zone.
“The proposed development includes both interior tenant improvements as well as exterior improvements to the existing parking area and rear yard area,” he said. “This includes resurfacing, restriping, and a new trash enclosure.”
The project is located on the City’s south end.
“The 2030 general plan for the site is commercial general, and its zoning designation is commercial general,” he said. “It is currently a vacant commercial tenant space.”
To the north of the site, he said the land use designation is residential medium-high, with a zoning designation of high-rise residential.
“Its current existing land use is multifamily residential apartments,” he said. “To the south of the site, the general plan designation is industrial light, with a zoning designation of light manufacturing planned development.”
