Ventura—Dog lovers can make a positive impact on their canine companions and find unique gifts and home decor items at the C.A.R.L (Canine Animal Rescue League Thrift Shop).
THE store is brimming with a wide range of fantastic items, including some dog-related products. To make the shopping experience even more enjoyable, shoppers brought their furry companions along.
C.A.R.L. is a non-profit, no-kill dog rescue and adoption organization for all breeds. Since 1996, C.A.R.L. has rescued and placed thousands of unwanted, sick, abandoned, and homeless dogs. Dogs are placed in prescreened, loving and secure homes. They make a lifetime commitment to all of their dogs.
Manager Shannon Spence just started and said the money raised goes to the Shelter.
“The Shop is filled with donations,” she said. “Our biggest seller is clothing.”
She spent many years working in the restaurant industry, and when she lost her job, a friend suggested working with C.A.R.L.
“I love it,” she said.
She has a Dog at home named Fumbles with her son; he is calls Bubbles, and she loves them.
People who want to adopt are directed to the Ojai Shelter to start the screening process.
