CAC Report celebrates Oxnard

Oxnard—The City Council, on Tuesday, October 7, received its Cultural Arts Commission (CAC) Annual Report.

CHAIR Teodoro Lopez presented the report, stating that they are a Commission of creatives, and he works with­in the multimedia and com­munications industry.

“Our Vice Chair, Paloma Concordia, does public re­lations for the entire organ­ization,” he said. “Our past chair, Sandra Diaz, creates small pieces of jewelry.”

“We have one vacancy right now,” Lopez continued. “This is under Mayor Mc­Arthur’s area, so we encour­age you, if you have anyone who would like to sit on the Commission, let the Mayor know.”

He said it can be from any Oxnard District.

“I’ve been on the Com­mission for about two years, and it feels pretty good to say we are one Commis­sioner away from having a full Commission,” he said. “When I started, we had people ending their term and serving on a different commission, and for a time, we were only two folks and couldn’t meet.”

 

He said the Commission established an ad hoc com­mittee to review and prepare the list, and it was presented to the Council in May and adopted in July.
