Cal Gisler Streets to Be Resurfaced

Oxnard—The City Council, Thursday, July 30, unanimously approved public project agreement 3250067 with Toro Enterprises for a neighborhood street resurfacing project at the Cal Gisler neighborhood.

MAYOR Luis McArthur said the recommendation is to approve $4.387 million in project funds for the Cal Gisler Street resurfacing project through Public Works.

McArthur will execute an agreement with Toro Enterprises for $3,653,989 and approve the $363,989 project contingency amount.

There will also be a project allocation totaling $365,899 for engineering inspections, surveying, and project management.

The item did not originate in committee, and it’s part of the Capital Improvement Program.

Council Member Michaela Perez thanked Public Works Director Michael Wolfe and his team for bringing the item forward.

“It’s definitely an exciting opportunity for the Cal Gisler neighborhood,” Perez said. “There has been a lot of communication, and a notice has gone out.”

She asked Public Works Director Michael Wolfe to provide an overview of the project for the public.

“There are three ongoing projects in our CIP,” he said. “We have streets, alleys, and our neighborhood street resurfacing project.”
