Car Community collects Easter Baskets

Oxnard-- Car Clubs across the County came out to the Lowes Parking Lot on March 26, as the groups came together to collect Easter Baskets for children who would otherwise be empty-handed on the Holiday.

THE show also featured classic cars, low riders, and unique vehicles the spectators marveled at when they dropped off their donations.

Art Soto Jr. from Majestics Ventura County said the group is celebrating its 49-year anniversary, but the Ventura Chapter has been open since 2007.

“There are kids who can’t afford it, and we want every kid to, at least, get the experience of getting some toys,” he said. “The kids deserve everything, so we decided to do this Easter Basket Run and collect as many toys as we can and donate it to them.”

Mostly, he said having people come down and hang out with the club makes him happy.

“It feels great to be able to give back to the community and do this,” he said. “We’re all one big family.”

 

After the Car Show, he said they go out and donate the baskets on the same day.
