Cassie’s Cats Puzzle Tourney raises $300

Ventura-- Cassie’s Cats and Kittens held a unique and fun fundraiser Saturday, August 6, as the Cat Adoption Service brought in $300 during its Jigsaw Puzzle Tournament to aid felines looking for a furever home.

THREE teams of four used analytical and teamwork skills to complete 550-750-piece puzzles in 75 minutes. After the tourney, participants enjoyed refreshments, shopped the Boutique, and interacted with the friendly and curious Cats. Each participant got a gift certificate for the Cat Boutique.

Cassie’s Cats and Kittens Founder and President Jennifer Thompson got advice on what puzzles to use and put that input into selecting fun but challenging puzzles.

“I looked for fun puzzles and didn’t want one that was all white,” she said. “I wanted puzzles that people would have fun doing and not too terribly difficult, and potentially one team will finish in 75 minutes.”

She said the money goes straight towards taking care of the Lounge’s Cats and Kittens, who were the real winners.

“We always need food and litter,” she said. “Financial donations are amazing, though, because we have utilities, WiFi, medical bills, and more to address.”

Jennifer loves bringing people together who enjoy puzzles, which is its own culture.
