Port Hueneme--The City of Port Hueneme congratulates Chief Michael Federico, who was honored Saturday, March 9, at the Down Syndrome Association of Los Angeles (DSALA) annual SunDown Awards benefit dinner.
Chief Federico was presented with the DSALA Visionary Award, and Cameo the Commish accompanied her dad and stole the show at the microphone, making everyone laugh and touching hearts as she spoke.
The DSALA Visionary Award honors people who support individuals with Down Syndrome and share their vision in the community. Chief Federico has spent many years serving others and supporting the special needs community. He has worked all over Southern California with several organizations, supported events, created programs, and served on boards. Thank you to everyone who supports the special needs community.
