Classic Car buffs roll into the fall

Ventura-- Car enthusiasts are rolling into fall at Antique Adventures Sunday, August 7, as the early attendees enjoy lively conversation about classic cars, lots of fresh coffee, and plenty of good-hearted laughter.

THE early birds helped each other get set up, including portable chairs, and spend the early hours talking about their rides, what they’re doing to enhance them, and sharing a joke or two along the way.

Group Organizer Tom Berger from The Pharaohs noted that he likes arriving early and welcoming the gang like they are family. He spent his early hours polishing his 1937 Ford Slant Back.

“We don’t open until 9:30 a.m., but we get a few stragglers in,” he said. “My summer has been good. Ventura is a great place.”

He said the group meets in front of Antique Adventures each Sunday all year long, as long as it doesn’t rain.

“I have some new mufflers, and it doesn’t sound like the same car anymore,” he said. “I’ve been working on cars all my life. We enjoy coming down here and being around friends. That’s what it’s all about anyway.”
