Committee reviews audit findings

Oxnard—The Finance and Governance Committee reviewed the Financial Corrective Action Plan (FCAP) for closing past audit findings on Tuesday, December 9.

SENIOR Manager of Internal Controls, Jennifer Hiraoka, presented the audit findings and the last corrective action plan, which took place in April, to the Finance and Governance Committee, followed by a May report to the City Council.

“Since our last update, the City Departments with open audit findings have continued to make progress in implementing corrective actions to remediate the findings identified, during the City’s 2023-2024 single audit,” she said.

The corrective action plan definitions include: complete, auditors have contested and determined that corrective action is required for the finding, and the corrective action has been correctly implemented.

The policies and proce­dures (P&P) were drafted but not approved by the CFO (Chief Financial Officer), and training was completed, with a corrective action ready for the auditor to test during the next single audit.

P&P Draft: drafted, but not yet approved by the CFO, and training has not yet been provided. In progress: The Staff has taken steps toward implementation, but not yet drafted (P&P) or completed training.
