Port Hueneme--The Port Hueneme PD Dispatch got calls from residents about a basset hound stranded in a Hueneme Beach canal and stuck as his legs couldn’t get him out of the water. Officer Tario responded because so many of the PHPD team members are dog lovers, parents, and dog rescuers.
Officer Tario and residents used teamwork to pull the dog out of the canal and to safety. He was brought to the station. ( where Chief Federico made jokes about Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane and his dog, flash.
