Oxnard-- The City Council, Tuesday, January 16, adopted a resolution waiving fees for damaged or lost solid waste containers and various fees necessary to obtain damage repair and restoration permits, and authorized relocation benefit payments for individuals displaced due to severe flooding.
THE resolution also suspended street sweeping citations for vehicles rendered inoperable due to severe flooding and extended the 10 percent price increase limit on certain goods and services during the Local Emergency for an additional 30 days.
City Attorney Stephen Fischer called it a ratification item the previous director ordered during COVID-19.
“Once the director issues a director order, State law and the City code require the Council to consider those orders for ratification at the next Council meeting after they’ve been issued,” he said.
Council Member Bert Perello asked if they’ve been able to identify specific areas the action will encompass or if it’s Citywide.
“The local emergency was proclaimed December 27, and you ratified that January 2,” Deputy City Attorney Jason Zaragoza said. “Since then, there have been three orders that have been issued, and they are applied Citywide.”
