Oxnard—The Public Works Board approved an agreement with Craftwater Engineering Inc. to provide consulting services for the Channel Islands Harbor Water Quality Feasibility Study and implementation plan during its Tuesday, April 23 meeting.
THE agreement, pending approval from the City Attorney, is for a not to exceed the amount of $735,000 for three years ending from the agreement’s effective date.
Assistant Public Works Director Steve Howlett presented the item and said the Special District’s Division of the Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance, operation, and administration of the City’s 50 special districts.
“That includes bonded and non-bonded community facilities districts, landscape maintenance districts, waterways maintenance assessment districts, and a maintenance assessment district,” he said. “Each of these specific districts has specific individualized authorized services and improvements, including, but not limited to, park landscapes, open spaces, parkways, medians, other public improvements, and Recreation and Park amenities, such as picnic shelters, restrooms, Arbors, and fountains.”
He said properties within each district are assessed through an annual parcel charge to maintain the improvements and other authorized services within their district.
