Oxnard--The City of Oxnard welcomed and approved a new board member to serve on its Cultural Arts Commission during the Tuesday, June 29, meeting.
Assistant City Clerk Dee Lai presented the item and said Paloma Concordia will serve and represent District 2.
“The Cultural Arts Commission advises on all matters related to Cultural Arts, public art in the City,” she said. The Cultural Arts Commission is composed of seven members, all of whom must reside in the City, be over the age of 18, and have special knowledge or interest in the arts.”
She said Council Member Gabe Teran nominated Concordia to represent District 2.
Teran thanked Concordia for applying to be on the Commission.
“As someone who’s served on a Commission as well, on the Parks and Rec Commission, I learned a lot about the operations of our City and some of the things our City Staff works on,” Teran said. “I don’t play any favorites, we all do a lot of great work, and there is a lot of great stuff going on.
