DAY OF WELLNESS HELPS THE UNSHELTERED

Oxnard-- It was a day of wellness and acceptance for the Unsheltered community at Community Action Ventura County Friday, May 6, as attendees got a hot meal, a haircut if they wanted, enjoyed music, and had a safe and accepting space to spend the day without any concerns.

ATTENDEES also heard about services to help them and put them on a good path, and some won prizes, like a bike.

Community Action Ventura County helps people who truly need help, makes a difference in their lives, and offers support, guidance, and “assistance through its programs and partnerships.”

Manager of Community Services Claudia Lozano said she is happy to join John Garcia and the Community Action-Ventura County staff to host a day of wellness for the Unsheltered.

“So they can engage and be in a space where they are welcome and accepted,” she said. “This is for them. We brought entertainment and food, and we also invited partner agencies that provide services for Unsheltered clients. We always have a wellness day with wellness activity, but we thought it was a good idea to use Cinco de Mayo and have this wellness day for our Unsheltered clients to engage and feel…
