Oxnard —The Finance & Governance Committee, Tuesday, February 25, Bylaws update Conversation continues with Assistant City Attorney Michelle McCarron saying the transition began in 2018.
On August 19, 2021, the Planning Commission voted 6-0, with one Commissioner absent, to approve resolution 2021-21, establishing the rules and procedures for the conduct of Planning Commission meetings, subject to approval by the City Council.
The changes include Rule 1, the title with the new section added to establish the official site of the Commission as the Planning Commission in the City of Oxnard.
“Rule 2 was added to establish the purpose and intent of the proposed bylaws,” he said. “Rule 3 was relocated from section 1 of the current bylaws. The proposed bylaws add the requirement that in addition to the bylaws, each new Commissioner received a copy of Robert’s Rules of Order, newly revised, and training on the Brown Act.”
Rule 5 incorporates existing language from sections three and four of the current bylaws and new language.
