Oxnard —The Finance & Governance Committee, Tuesday, February 25, Bylaws update Conversation continues with Assistant City Attorney Michelle McCarron saying the transition began in 2018.

On August 19, 2021, the Plan­ning Commis­sion voted 6-0, with one Commissioner absent, to approve resolution 2021-21, establishing the rules and procedures for the conduct of Planning Commission meetings, subject to approv­al by the City Council.

The changes include Rule 1, the title with the new sec­tion added to establish the official site of the Commis­sion as the Planning Com­mission in the City of Ox­nard.

“Rule 2 was added to es­tablish the purpose and in­tent of the proposed bylaws,” he said. “Rule 3 was relocated from section 1 of the current bylaws. The proposed bylaws add the requirement that in addition to the bylaws, each new Commissioner received a copy of Robert’s Rules of Order, newly revised, and training on the Brown Act.”

Rule 5 incorporates exist­ing language from sections three and four of the current bylaws and new language.
