THE day featured plenty of music, good food, classic cars, kids in uniform playing ball, and engaged parents making a difference for the youngsters.
The Car Show was a fundraiser that pays for supplies that East Side Little League needs.
Board Member Bella Contreras created the event for the league, and she was excited to see it start.
“Everybody is set up, our cars are here, and there’s more coming,” she said. “We have trophies for the cars, and we have categories for the Lowriders, sportscars, pedal cars, and motorcycles.”
She said getting the car enthusiasts involved to raise money for the kids made sense.
“We want to raise money for our kids to keep them playing, active, and out of the streets,” she said. “It all goes back to the kids. We’re taking them out after games, we go bowling with them, and we’ve done batting cages with them to help them get better. We keep them together and united.”
She said the East Side Little League parents are great.
