Etting Road improvements approved

Oxnard-- The City Council unanimously approved agreement 32400201 with Toro Enterprises for Etting Road Bicycle and Pedestrian Facilities, specification number PW 21-34R, during its Tuesday, October 17 meeting.

THE agreement allocates $2.864 million in project funds for the project, with $238,697 in contingencies (10 percent) for the project and an additional $237,697 (10 percent) for engineering, inspection, survey, and project management.

Work on the project is tentatively scheduled to begin in December and continue for 60 working days through February 2024.

Transportation Planner and Interim Transportation Manager Debbie O’Leary presented the item and said a $1 million budget appropriation from the Air Pollution Buydown Fee Fund and $411,147 from the circulation System Improvement Fees Fund balances the project.

“The Etting Road Bicycle and Pedestrian Facilities Installation Project is a Capital Improvement Project with an active Tran­sportation Program Grant,” she said. “The purpose is to connect the City’s bicycle and pedestrian facilities from neighborhoods in Southeast Oxnard to Mar Vista Elementary School, Ocean View Junior High School, and Ocean View School District Offices.”
