Channel Islands—It was a rainy Sunday, September 6, but the Channel Islands Farmers' Market kept going and was full of jewelry, produce, fruit, human-grade dog and cat food, clothes, and more.
FAMILIES were busy shopping, dodging the raindrops, and enjoying their Sunday shopping.
Yvette Balzano sells human-grade Dog and Cat food and decided to call it an early day because of the inclement weather outside.
“The rain kind of damaged some of our product,” she said. “We decided to pack it up, but now it looks nice. There's not too much rain.”
Other than the rainy day, she said business is doing well, and it's growing.
“We have a ton of Dog Clients, but we're actually gaining Cat clients,” she said.
She said when a Dog or Cat client passes away, it moves her and she mourns the loss.
“It brings you back to your own experience,” she said. “I've had four or five Dogs pass in my life, and dealing with the loss is always rough.”
She said her current Dog, Gaya, is doing well.
“Gaya is great,” Yvette said.
She has new products, and her latest is called an apple carrot twist.
“It's with organic coconut flour, organic apples, and carrots,” she said.
