Oxnard--On May 5, 2026 at approximately 7:48 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded with Emergency Medical Services to a single vehicle injury traffic collision on Ventura Road north of Stone Creek Drive. Officers arrived and found a Harley Davidson motorcycle down in the southbound lanes of Ventura Road north of Stone Creek Drive. The rider, a 34-year-old male resident of Oxnard, was lying on the raised center median near the motorcycle. The rider had suffered severe injuries and was transported by ambulance to the Ventura County Medical Center. He was pronounced deceased shortly after arriving at the hospital.
Oxnard Police Traffic Investigators responded to Ventura Road and conducted an initial investigation. Traffic Investigators believe the motorcyclist was riding northbound Ventura Road, when for reasons unknown, he struck the raised curb along the center median north of Stone Creek Drive. The rider lost control of the motorcycle, was ejected, and landed on the center median. The motorcycle continued across the center median and landed in the southbound traffic lanes. Impairment by alcohol may have been a factor in this collision, however the investigation is ongoing.
