Oxnard—At approximately, 8:50 p.m. Saturday, October 8, Oxnard Police Officers responded to a call of subject.
Officers learned that the suspect had pointed a firearm at the victim and the victim’s minor child. When Officers attempt to contact the suspect, Mario Amparan, he ignored the commands of the officers and attempted to walk away but was quickly detained. Amparan had discarded a loaded firearm with a high-capacity magazine. Amparan, a convicted felon, was arrested for numerous firearms-related charges as well as assault with a deadly weapon and child endangerment.
