Gang Unit arrests three minors

Oxnard--At approximately 7:49 p.m., Saturday, January 6, Oxnard Special Enforcement Unit (Gang Unit) Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle for reckless driving.

THE vehicle failed to yield, and a pursuit was initiated, which lasted approximately eight minutes and traveled 7.5 miles in the South Oxnard area.

The vehicle eventually stopped in the area of Maulhardt Road and Ranchita Lane, and the driver and two occupants fled on foot from the vehicle and were apprehended by police.

One of the occupants, a 14-year-old Oxnard resident, possessed a .45 caliber concealed handgun and was arrested for weapons charges. Two additional juveniles were arrested for vehicle pursuit and various misdemeanor charges. All three are lodged in Ventura Juvenile Justice Center.
