Oxnard--The future direction of the proposed Sports Park continues with public comments from Greg Runyon, who said the City would end up in a quagmire if they start doing this or that.
THE City Council accepted the Staff’s recommendation of a Baseball and Softball Complex as the future uses of a proposed Sports Park during its Tuesday, January 17 meeting, along with a Soccer Complex addressing a shortage of fields at College Park.
“Then I hear about an ice rink, and I’m not from Oxnard; I wasn’t born here, but there was an ice rink here,” Runyon said. “I think you have an issue that goes beyond Sports Park and goes beyond College Park. What are you guys going to do to be a little forward-thinking? We have these labels now; Liberal, Conservative, Progressive, all these kinds of things. We talk about politics, but we forget about people.”
He said young people are learning more about how to disagree rather than how to solve problems.
