Harbor parade celebrates patriotism

Chanel Islands—The Red, White, and Blue proudly shined across the Harbor on Thursday, July 4, as the Harbor’s Annual Fourth of July Family Parade was a Patriotic tribute to old glory.

THE Parade brought friends, family, neighbors, and Dogs together to celebrate the Holiday and featured Patriotic music, kids on decorated bikes, and adults decorating golf carts while others walked and waved to the giant crowd.

Ventura County Harbor Department Public Information Officer Jed Chernabaeff is excited to host an array of activities at Channel Islands Harbor.

“We have the Fourth of July Family Parade here at 10:30 a.m., an electric boat Parade at 2 p.m., and will culminate with Fireworks by the Sea, Ventura County’s only seaside fireworks show,” he said. “We have about 200 people who pre-entered, which could easily double as the people come out of the neighborhoods, the City of Oxnard and Ventura County.”

 

He said the Family Parade captures the essence of July 4 because everyone is dressed Patriotically and in a great mood.
