Oxnard—On Monday, July 28, at about 1:11 a.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department and EMS personnel responded to an injury traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian at the intersection of Oxnard Boulevard and 7th Street.
UPON arrival, officers located the pedestrian, a 33-year-old female resident of Carpinteria, lying in the northbound traffic lanes of Oxnard Boulevard suffering from serious injuries, and she was transported by ambulance to the Ventura County Medical Center and listed in critical condition.
The Preliminary investigation revealed the pedestrian was crossing Oxnard Boulevard at 7th Street in a marked crosswalk and was struck by an SUV traveling northbound on Oxnard Boulevard.
After the collision, the SUV continued northbound on Oxnard Boulevard and fled the scene.
Traffic Investigators responded to the collision scene and took over the investigation. It is unknown if impairment by alcohol or drugs, or unsafe speed, contributed to the collision.
