Port Hueneme-- Officers with the Port Hueneme Police Department responded to the 2600 block of Hurricane Cove about a robbery in progress at 3:12 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 25.
When officers arrived, they contacted the victim and suspect outside in the 2800 block of Hurricane Cove. The investigation revealed that the suspect entered the victim’s house through a rear door.
The victim caught the suspect crawling on the floor in his bedroom and confronted him.
The suspect fled on foot, and the victim chased the suspect. Officers arrested the suspect and located property in his possession that belonged to the victim.
The victim was not injured during the incident, and his property was recovered.
The suspect was identified as 33-year-old Ventura resident Blas Hernandez, who was booked for 459 PC, Residential Burglary, and transported to Ventura County Jail.
