Ventura—Kirby Subaru of Ventura loves pets, and there were plenty of puppies ready for their furever home on Saturday, November 8, in conjunction with the Humane Society of Ventura County.
ATTENDEES toured the mobile wellness clinic, enjoyed tacos from a food truck, and had the opportunity to adopt their new best friend for only $25.
Volunteer Coordinator Amber Heard has a Dog, a Cat, and an indoor rabbit in her home.
“I’ve been working at non-profits for 20 years,” she said. “I’m at the Humane Society to raise money and get them adopted.”
Amber brought five Dogs wandering around with volunteers.
“They’re meeting and greeting the people as we speak,” she said. “All the Dogs come from Ojai, and they are all available for adoption.”
She said some were strays that weren’t united with their families.
“One Dog came in with a Humane Officer and was turned over to us,” she said.
Going into the community and giving these furry friends exposure is a great way to get them adopted.
Amber said the ideal pet parent is someone who loves and will take care of their pets.
