Library Maintenance Agreement ok’d

Oxnard—The Public Works and Transportation Committee, on Tuesday, May 12, approved an agreement with Executive Facilities for custodial services at the Oxnard Main Library.

FACILITIES Manager Ted Quiroz presented the agreement, and he said the agreement does not exceed $675,000 for an initial term of one year, from July 1, 2026, until June 30, 2027, with an option for four one-year period extensions ending June 30, 2031, for custodial Services at the Main Oxnard Library.

“The Public Works Department has contracted custodial services for the Oxnard Main Library (Library) since March 2025, which is not serviced by Custodial Staff,” he said. “Due to approved Staffing levels and operational facilities, custodial services for this facility will continue to be provided by a third-party provider.”

Contracted custodial services provide a full complement of cleaning and sanitation activities necessary to support the necessary activities.

Custodial Services (Utility and Main Library) were originally solicited together, and he said that, upon review of the initial bids, the Purchasing Department found that the proposals failed to provide adequate staffing coverage for the main branch and therefore the bids were rejected.
