Oxnard—Things were happening on Sunday, August 30, as WonderCon IV rolled into the Oxnard Performing Arts Center, with models and books stacked across the ballroom.
THE event, brought forward by High Altitude Marketing, honored the 35th Anniversary of Operation Desert Storm, the war in the desert.
Lead Organizer Joseph Osborne said it's their fourth show and sale, with scale models.
"We have vendors who come in and sell model kits, paints, and supplies," he said. "We have a show where modelers can bring their work, and we have a judging schedule where each model can be judged as a gold, silver, or bronze model."
He said everyone who shows up gets feedback.
"This is the only gold, silver, or bronze show in Southern California," he said.
WonderCon IV also featured plenty of model cars on display, which people also loved.
"I'm basically a Military vehicle modeler, so I do a lot of historical models," he said. "That's my jam."
Osborne said there are guys who will build whatever they have.
