Moreno charged with firearms violations

Oxnard-- At approximately 6:13 p.m., Friday, October 20, the Oxnard Police Department Special Enforcement Unit (Gang Unit) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of Rose Ave. and Pleasant Valley Rd.

The driver, Raymond Moreno, and the vehicle occupants were subsequently removed. Officers searched the vehicle for additional fireworks and located a loaded 9-millimeter handgun concealed in the vehicle.

Moreno was ultimately arrested for firearms-related violations and booked into Ventura County Jail. Moreno, a documented Oxnard criminal street gang member, was previously convicted for illegal firearms possession earlier this month.
