Multicultural Festival displays Oxnard's diversity

Oxnard— On Saturday, October 7, Plaza Park transformed into a vibrant tapestry of cultures during the 27th Annual Multicultural Festival. Visitors were transported around the globe as they savored international cuisines, enjoyed lively music performances, and explored diverse arts and crafts. The park buzzed with energy, offering a rich celebration of the world’s nations right in the heart of the community.

Luly Lopez, Executive Assistant to City Manager Alex Nguyen and City Clerk candidate, handed out passports to the kids to get stamped so they could get a prize.

“Every year, we have an opportunity for the kids to come and learn about different countries around the world,” she said. “When they’ve completed their tour around the world, they redeem their passport and get a certificate from Mcdonald’s. It’s an opportunity for the kids to learn about the different countries here today.”

She said the Mexico booth interests her the most.

“That’s where I was born, but I haven’t had the chance to walk around and learn about the different Countries,” she said.
