Oxnard-- On January 1, 2024, at approximately 12:10 a.m., Oxnard Police Department Officers responded to the 2100 block of Sierra Way about multiple callers reporting shots fired and a shooting victim in the street.
Officers and EMS personnel arrived and located a 34-year-old male, later identified as Jose Juarez, suffering from a single gunshot wound. Officers began life-saving measures, and Emergency Medical Personnel quickly arrived and transported Juarez to the Ventura County Medical Center.
Unfortunately, despite lifesaving measures at the hospital, Juarez succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The Oxnard Police Department Major Crimes Unit responded and took over the investigation and encourage anyone with any information or heard or seen anything to contact Detective Adam Aguilar at 805-385-7680.
The City of Oxnard offers a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any individuals responsible for committing homicides within the City.
