Oxnard—During his Tuesday, April 21, report to the City Council, City Manager Alex Nguyen said he had two updates, which are artistic in nature.
"THIS year marks the Cultural and Community Services Art Gala,” he said. “That’s happening on April 23, at the PAL GYM, which is located at 350 South K Street. This is a special event to celebrate California Arts and Culture Month, and we have various things on show. We have programs, and we have quite a special guest. If you’re here, or you can see it from home, some of the items we have here, some of the colorful items we have at the Council Chambers, that might give you somewhat of a clue.”
Cultural Arts Manager Julie Estrada introduced Nationally Acclaimed Cartoonist Robb Armstrong. Robb is an advocate for youth creativity and activity.
“He is the creator of Jumpstart and the Apple TV Special, Welcome Home Franklin,” Estrada said. “If you look around the room, you’ll see why we’re so decorative and festive today. Robb has had multiple trips to the City of Oxnard, inspired our students, enriched our programs, and continues to support the Cultural Arts Division of Artists for Everyone.”
