On-call engineering approved

Oxnard—The Public Works and Transportation Committee, on Tuesday, October 14, unanimously approved multiple agreements for on-call structural engineering services.

ENGINEER Morgan Kessler presented the agre­ements with an initial term of two years from November 9, 2025, to November 9, 2027, with an option for three consecutive one-year terms ending No­vember 9, 2030, for on-call structural engineering ser­vices.

The agreements include IDS Group, m6 Consulting, and TY Lin International, each for a total amount not to exceed $1 million.

“The Public Works Department utilizes profes­sional consulting firms to provide licensed technical expertise in various disci­plines that support the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP),” he said.

“The utilization of these specialized contractors is necessary to provide services that supplement the skills, experience, and sometimes the peak load of the City staff.”

He said it’s in the City’s interest to have a pool of professional service contractors available on-call so that work can proceed in fairly short order.

“On-call professional service agreements reduce the amount of time to procure service contractors, and facilitate the timely completion of CIP and other projects,” he said.
