OPD arrest firearms suspect

Oxnard-- At 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 6, Oxnard Police Officers received a report of someone brandishing a firearm in the 100 block of South C Street.

Officers initially contacted the victim at the police station and responded to the area where the crime occurred, where they observed and made contact with 49-year-old Oxnard resident Victor Hernandez, who was ultimately detained and possessed a loaded .38 revolver.

After completing their investigation, officers arrested Hernandez, a previously convicted felon, for the brandishing of a firearm, resisting officers, unlawfully possessing a firearm and ammunition, and being under the influence of a controlled substance while in possession of a firearm.
