Oxnard-- At approximately 10:17 p.m., Saturday, October 22, 2022, officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to a shooting victim in the 300 block of Cuesta Del Mar.
WHEN officers arrived, they located a 36-year-old male, Ronald Apodaca, Jr., suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency Medical Services quickly arrived and began life-saving measures. Unfortunately, Apodaca succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
During the investigation, investigators were able to obtain sufficient evidence that identified 21-year-old Hugo Quebrado as the person responsible for the murder of Ronald Apodaca.
The success of this investigation was through the hard work and dedication of investigators from the Oxnard Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit, Violent Crimes Unit and officers assigned to the Special Enforcement Unit.
At about 6 a.m., Monday, February 6, 2023, Oxnard Police Department SWAT team members, as well as investigators from the Violent Crimes Unit, served a search warrant at Quebrado’s residence, and he was taken into custody without incident.
Quebrado was transported to the Ventura County Main Jail, where he was charged with the murder of Ronald Apodaca, Jr.
