OPD makes gun arrest

Oxnard-- At approximately 4:18 p.m., Friday, October 27, Oxnard Special Enforcement (gang unit) Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Saviers Road and Pleasant Valley Road.

OFFICERS contacted the adult male driver and passenger, Alejandro Rocha, and during the stop, officers observed a handgun in the pocket of Rocha’s sweatshirt.

Rocha was detained, and officers removed the loaded handgun from his pocket. A records check of the firearm later determined the handgun was unregistered.

Rocha was arrested for possession of a loaded, unregistered firearm. The driver was released at the scene.
