Oxnard—The fights triumphantly returned to the Inaugural Oxnard PAL Boxing International Championships, October 1-5, as fighters battled, showed off their skills, and shook hands with the true spirit of friendship.
OXNARD PAL and National PAL teamed up for its Inaugural International Boxing Championships. The event featured boxers from all over the United States and athletes from England (UK), Italy, Malta, Mexico, Ukraine, and the Romani People of Europe while huge crowds cheered.
Community Services Director Terrel Harrison said he’s been doing boxing in Oxnard for almost 25 years and said the Oxnard PAL is hosting its first International Boxing Tournament.
“We have nine Countries represented,” he said. “Originally, we thought we were going to have eight, but a German group of fighters showed up.”
He called the event awesome.
“I got to witness something I’ve never seen before; a kid from San Francisco had a wonderful bought with a kid from London and watched them hug it out after they finished.”

He visited England 20 years ago and took a team, and they enjoyed themselves.
