Park curfew leads to arrest

Oxnard-- At approximately 9:45 p.m., Sunday, January 7, an Oxnard Police officer attempted to contact 38-year-old Oxnard resident Miller Aupiu at Johnson Creek Park, 501 Johnson Road, for violating the city’s park curfew.

Aupiu fled from the officer but was later found and detained in the yard of a residence in the 300 block of East Yucca Place. A loaded, un-serialized 9mm P80 firearm was found in the immediate area where Aupiu was detained, and he was arrested for multiple firearms violations.
