Patio coffee: friendship with a java jolt

Port Hueneme—It’s non-stop fun at Hueneme Bay, where residents gathered Saturday, September 21, and enjoyed its Coffee on the Patio, highlighting friendship and a jolt of Java.

HUENEME Bay is a 55+ com­mu­nity, and Se­niors enjoy activities like golf, a pool, and a clubhouse where they can read, relax, do puzzles, and enjoy great activities like the book club.

Area residents enjoyed a warm cup of Coffee at the social, snacked on freshly made treats, met neighbors, and left with new friends. Old friends got caught up on events and reveled in life well-deserved.

Alan Rothman spearheads the weekly Coffee and said his group goes the extra mile each Saturday, intending to get people out of their houses.

“Today, we have banana bread, along with sweets, mini brownies, and plenty of Coffee,” he said. “We have 50 cups of Coffee brewing.”

He bakes a different sweet treat, motivating people to come, sample, and catch up with neighbors.

 

Rothman said about 10-20 people stop by each week, which has been a regular event for about eight years.
