Pearl Island Sushi to Be Considered

Oxnard—The City of Oxnard’s Planning Commission, on Friday, August 26, approved a special use permit for alcohol for Pearl Island Sushi & Grill, located at 2335 North Oxnard Boulevard.

CITY Case planner John-Miguel Dalbey said the business's designated agent, Leander Bol, submitted the application for the restaurant.

“The request consists of an alcohol special use permit requesting an ABC License, type 41, authorizing the sale and on-site consumption of beer and wine at a designated eating place, specifically Pearl Island Sushi and Grill,” Dalbey said. “There is no physical development associated with this request specifically, and the restaurant’s conditioned hours of sale are from 7 a.m. until 11 p.m., seven days a week.”

Pearl Island Sushi & Grill will be located toward the northern edge of the City of Oxnard in the Vineyard Plaza Shopping Center.

“The project site’s general plan is commercial general, and the site is to be zoned commercial plan development,” he said. “The existing land use designations both south and west of the site are commercial general, and the land use designations to the north and west are residential medium high.”
